We traveled with Fun Sun vacations. On Canadian Airlines departing from Regina at 10:00 am via Vancouver and on to Honolulu arriving at 11:10 pm. Even though it was night time it was nice and warm and you can smell the tropical air.

We were greeted with lovely Lei's and escorted to our bus for the transfer to out hotel, we had to drop others off at their hotels along the way.

Hotel Information

          Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel
2570 Kalakaua Ave Honolulu - HI,96815
We stayed at the Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel. It has now been changed to Resort Quest Waikiki Beach Towers.

Our room was on the 20th floor in the main tower. The room and bathroom were clean and functional with a comfortable queen size bed. It was decorated in light tropical colors. It included AC, TV with pay movie, mini fridge, telephone, radio, in room safe.  It was furnished with a small table and chairs inside and also on the balcony that over looked the beach and great views of the most wonderful sunsets.
The resort was equipped with 2 restaurants, room service, lounge, pool bar, heated pool with sun deck. laundry service, ice & soda dispensers, baby sitting service, activity desk, sundry shop, banquet and meeting space.

There was a continental breakfast which is your basic muffins, danishes, toast, juice and coffee.
The Captain's Table Restaurant food is good quality and well presented - and reasonably priced.

The hotel service we received was superb, the staff were friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble - you were made to feel welcome from the check in staff through to the pool and room attendants - all are very professional

This is a comfortable hotel that offers good value for money - When we return to Honolulu we will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is ideally located on the scenic Diamond Head end of Waikiki overlooking the world famous Waikiki Beach and within walking distance to the Honolulu Zoo, Kapiolani Park, Waikiki Aquarium and The International Market Place

The beach is a soft gold sand and the ocean is warm and shallow for along time. There is a break water that makes it safe for children to play in with no worries of rough waters

Weddings
.

We needed to go get our marriage license at the Health Department, so we hopped on a bus and headed down town. With $50.00 and picture ID we received our marriage license in about 15 mins.

We became partners in life on February 4, 2000 on the beach of Magic Island. With Diamond Head in the back ground. Rev. Tony Baron of A #1 Hawaii Weddings performed a simply and very romantic ceremony with a traditional Ukulele serenaded by Kina

After the ceremony we "stripped Down"  and had some wonderful fun sunset pictures taken.

We order a lobster supper on room service and had a celebration supper on our balcony as we watched the fireworks. A special touch to end a special day

Excursions

We toured down town and checked out the statues of King Kamehamha & Queen Lili Uokani, Palace Lonani, Aloha Tower Market Place, Ala Moana Mall and Marina

We rented a car a drove up the east coast to Hanauma Bay to snorkel, this is a natural reef where fish are plenty and will feed out of your hand.

We also drove around to the North Shore to check out the surfing capital of the world. Huge waves at Banzai Pipeline. On the way, we saw Chinaman's hat island, and ranches, we stop at The Polynesian Culture Center where the South Pacific comes alive with seven villages recreating the arts, crafts and games of those islands. We witness the uncovering of the pig that is wrapped in banana leave and burlap and hot rocks are placed inside the pig and covered with dirt and cooked in the IMA (ground oven) for 12 hrs. It was the best !
We contacted Captain Bruce's Scuba Charters prior to arriving. They picked us up from our hotel, and we were off to the West coast of the island. We could hear the whales singing, a really really cool experiences.
We hike the Diamond Head Mountain which takes about 30 mins to climb, it is an easy steady climb, but it does state that any one with high blood pressure or heart condition should not climb. Once on top we received a unbelievable panoramic view of Oahu from the bunkers

Just 30 mins from the concrete jungles of down town Waikiki lays another jungle. A tropical rain forests with 100' trees and palms. We hike for 40 mins to the top of a tropical rain forest where there is a 300' water fall and pool

Departed Honolulu at 12:45 am and arriving in Vancouver at 8:05 am where we then drove to Seattle for 4 days  with family. I just love Seattle. We took a trip up the Space Needle to get a great view of Mt Rainer and the Pacific coast, toured Pikes Place Market -Watch out for flying fish!
