Disneyland, Universal Studios, Sea World and San Diego Zoo
April 7-18, 2004

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids ages, 9 & 11. We drove from Regina to Calgary,
spent the night at the Best Western Airport Inn. It included continental breakfast, indoor
pool w/Jacuzzi, free parking and shuttle to airport. We boarded Alaskan Air on a direct flight to Los Angeles at 7:20 am arriving at LAX at 9:32 am. Sunny warm weather the entire time.

We purchased all our tickets, transportation and accommodations from Fun Sun Vacations

Los Angeles

Once we arrived in LAX, we rented a car from Alamo at the airport. We drove approx. 30 mins. to the Best Western Hollywood Plaza Inn. This hotel is located 2 blocks from Highland/ Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Strip and over looks the Hollywood Hills and the "Hollywood" sign.

From our hotel we walked to Grauman's Chinese Theater, Kodak Theater and the Walk of Fame where the celebrities hand & foot prints are in the sidewalks.

We took a drive through down town LA, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive to Venice Beach. We checked out the world famous Muscle Beach and all the sites and sounds of this popular
beach with artist, performers, lots of shopping and dining.

Universal Studios

We spent a day at Universal Studios which was 10 minuets from our hotel and it was an absolute blast, we started with a studio tour to get a closer look at where and how our favorite movies are made. Spiderman Rocks, a musical, aerial acrobatic show. Back to the future time machine ride. Animal planet with live animals performing. Feel the action at
Shrek 4-D and Terminator 2: 3-D. Back draft, with  pyrotechnic & special effects. Jurassic
Park a wet and wild jungle adventure ride.

We ate at the Universal City walk, which is located out side the main gates and is full of
great restaurants, shopping, movie theaters and night clubs, and lights up like mini Vegas
at night

We then drove to Anaheim that night after the rush hours, which took us about an hour
and checked into the Super 8 which is located about 3 blocks from the main gates of Disneyland. This hotel is know for it's great value, with Jacuzzi, heated pool, continental breakfast, it is not fancy but clean, and a good location, we picked this place because it
was the best value, and we knew we were not going to spend much time in the room.

Disneyland

We returned the rental car the next day to Alamo depot which was located a block away.
We purchased the 5 days for 3 day Park Hopper Passes and spent 4 very long days taking in the fun of Disneyland, California Adventure and Downtown Disney. We went during the
Easter Break and it was crazy busy, but it was a great time.

We were extremely exhausting by the end of the 4 days, be prepared to do a lot of walking and waiting in line. Use the Fast Passes as much as you can. Be patient and just have fun. Remember you are in  "The Happiest Place on Earth"

San Diego Zoo & Sea World

We took a motor coach shuttle from Anaheim to San Diego, they served beverages and
light snacks during the 2 hr relaxing drive down the Pacific Coast to the Days Inn Circle
Hotel. We took a taxi to/from the San Diego Zoo - large and very beautiful, well cared for,
we saw lions and tigers and bears - oh my!

We spent a day at Sea World. This was my highlight and enjoyed watching these beautiful creatures perform, we were able to feed and pet the dolphins.

We took a shuttle to San Diego Airport for our return flight back to Calgary via Seattle. We returned back to the Best Western Airport Inn for the night and to pick up our vehicle and drove back to Regina the following day
