Cancun, is located in the state of Quintana Room, on the east side of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is divided into two areas: The Zona Hotelera (Hotel Zone), between the Lagoon and the sea and El Centro (Downtown), inland

Cancun's hotel zone is legendary, with every imaginable water sport played on a shimmering field of azure seas, while nights ignite with a powder key of first class discos, night clubs and vibrant fiestas.

Currency is the Peso. Language all through out Mexico, Spanish is the official language, but other common languages speaks English, French, German & Italian

Electricity is 110 volts

Getting around - Buses stops are all over and economical and hold on as it is a wild ride, taxi fares are fixed, so ask your driver for the fare up front. Rental cars, mopeds, and bikes are always found.

Weather - During the summer season April - September average temperatures average 36 degrees, during winter season the average high is 28

We went with Signature Vacations and it was a direct flight on Skyservice approx. flying time  4 hrs

Resort

We stayed at the all inclusive Jack Tar Village Resort. It is a smaller, quaint resort. We had a room at the end of the 3rd floor facing the lagoon side. The rooms clean and a basic nice size, with ceramic tile floors and decorated in bright colors, and it had a safety deposit box. The maids were there everyday and supplied us with clean towels. The room had a  little musty smell, which is from the salty sea water in the air which makes every thing damp. But, not enough to damper our spirits, plus, we had a fantastic view of the sunsets from our balcony.

The resort had 5 bars, a lobby, a swim up pool, sport, snack, Tolac.
Topacio restaurant served the buffet meals
Caruso Restaurant - Italian ala carte
La Troja  - Mexican ala carte can you say "TEQUILA"
Fiesta night around the pool and an Italian night in the lobby
I had no problem with the food and was able to satisfy my appetite with plenty to choose from.

There was daily activities at the pool and beach, we were always able to find a longer, non motorized sports are  available and if you wanted to use motorized water toys you had to go to the AquaWorld down the street (free shuttle)

On site was a Spa, beauty salon, logo shop, tour desk, laundry, scuba diving excursions.

Nightly entertainment which was fun to watch. and the staff will take you out on the town

There is a mall a few blocks away that you can either to walk by street or the beach. or if you want to talk a bus down town it is inexpensive and a wild ride so hang on

Beaches

The beach is long and wide and has the most wonderful white coral sand that never gets hot on your feet. We could walk from one end of the hotel zone to the other with no worries, there are a few beach venders but nothing that we felt concerned about. They had parasailing off the beach in front of our hotel. We did have a few days where swimming was not recommended due to the undertow.
Excursions

Xel-Ha Inlet

We did "Juan Howl of a Night" pub crawl and checked out the El Shrimp Bucket, Carlos 'N Charlie's, Fat Tuesday, Pat O'Brien's, and Senor Frog's

Caribbean Fun day Tour over to Isla Mujeres named the "Island of Women" we board a double decker boat when they served unlimited beverages. We partied on the way there and back with singing & dancing. We went to Garrafon Park and snorkeled at the second largest barrier reef, had our pictures taken with nurse sharks, took a bike ride around part of the island, to see the light house, ruins and some really neat homes that were made in the shape of a giant Conch Shell. We were served a buffet lunch, then boarded the boat again where they took us around to the top of the island to take in some shopping.

Xel-Ha a natural wonder. About a 60 min. bus ride from Cancun. We snorkel and tubing thru the natural wonders of caves, cenotes, that is filled with a combination of salt and fresh water surrounded by jungle. We had lunch and unlimited beverages then relaxed in Hammock Island and watched the dolphins frolic around, the lizards slithering and the parrots chatting. I suggest you take some time to see and enjoy a unique outdoor adventure

Foam Party at Up & Down night club located in Grand Oasis Hotel. Just one huge bubble bath

What A Blast!

Additional Comments

I really enjoyed it at this resort, it was small and quaint and not overly rowdy, we did a lot of relaxing. The food was good and plenty with a variety.
The beach was unbelievably wonderful with that coral white soft sand and warm ocean.

We had a great time on every excursion we went on and really enjoyed the culture.

I would definitely return to Cancun and stay at this resort
