For the millions of pet
owners, who prefer to travel with their pets, the hassle of finding
places that will accept them is over. A new web site finds
pet-friendly places in the USA, Canada and abroad, creating an
excellent travel resource for pet owners and travel agents
For information, visit http://
www.bringyourpet.com
here is also a
full guide for Canada focusing on places that welcome all well
behaved dogs.
Dogfriendly
(check here)
If you wonder how this is all determined, DogFriendly says
researchers take into account the number and quality of dog-friendly
accommodations, transportation, beaches, parks, attractions, stores,
dining "and other things to do with your dog."
In Boston, for example, leashed dogs can help explore the Freedom
Trail. Leashed dogs are also welcome on the subway.
San Diego has off-leash dog beaches, and in Orlando, visitors can
dine at Sam Snead's Restaurant where former Governor Jeb Bush signed
the doggy dining law. |

Traveling with your pets
Three cats sailed on Cunard Line's maiden voyage in 1840 and today Queen
Mary 2 continues the pet friendly tradition. It's the only major cruise ship
sailing from U.S. port that welcomes a client's pet onboard. As the QM2
travels weekly this summer between New York and Southampton, the line's
"Pets on Deck" kennel program assures that pets will make the crossing in
comfort with a choice of beds, fleece blankets and even nightly turn down
service of freshly baked treats. Cunard's full time "Kennel Master" feeds,
walks and cleans the ship's 12 kennels. Toys keep pets entertained, and
cruisers may interact with their pets indoor and outdoor walking area
Pets will chow down on premium pet food and receive complimentary gift packs
with a QM2 logoed coat, Frisbee, name tag, food dish, and scoop, a
complimentary photo with owners, a transatlantic crossing certificate and
personalized cruise card. Pet cruise fares range from $300.00 - $500.00
For pets traveling by air, Midwest Airlines has a
"Premier Pet Program" that gives these furry travelers frequent flyer
perks, providing the owner and pet travel on the same flight. For every
three paid roundtrips, or six paid one way trips that the pet fly with
their owner, the pet earns one roundtrip. Or, clients may also redeem
15,000 Midwest Miles for a free roundtrip for their pet with the "Below
Cabin Dog & Cat Option" The airline will then reserve a spot for a
kenneled dog or cat below cockpit in a temperature controlled and
pressurized pet compartment. Owners may, alternatively, redeem 20,000
Midwest Miles for the "In Cabin Small Dog Option" allowing pet owners to
bring a small dog into the cabin: the dog must be confined in an
approved soft-sided pet carrier and stowed beneath the seat in front of
the owner.
