What is a Destination Wedding?
A destination wedding is when a couple decided
they want to exchange their vows and celebrate their love in a dream location
that they and their guest
will have to travel to.
They can have their wedding & honeymoon all at once.
An elopement is when the couple decided that they just want it to be just the
two of them, with no guest

Why plan a Destination
Wedding?
There are many
reasons to choose a destination wedding. Many couples look to a destination
wedding as a way to have a unique and memorable wedding experience.
Often, when
looking at a guest list, many people will have to travel from far away. A destination wedding allows them to travel somewhere exotic
&
fabulous, where they
can also enjoy a relaxing vacation. Some couples are
in love with a destination, and want to spend the most special day of their
lives in their ideal of paradise. A destination wedding is a celebration over a
whole week. Other have been
married before in a traditional
wedding and now want their second marriage smaller
and stress free.
Its generally cost less than a traditional at home
wedding.

How far
in advance should I plan my destination wedding?
This really varies with the destination. One major factor is
how many guests are going to be invited. Destination
Weddings involve travel arrangements, and therefore should
be sent out at least 6-12 months in advance. This is to
allow the guests to properly budget and plan for the trip,
and to make sure that they are able to obtain reservations.
You will also need to book a wedding date at your location
if the resort is popular they will need advance notice.

What are the legal requirements when getting married out of
the country?
This depends on the location of your destination wedding.

Will I
need a wedding coordinator to handle the ceremony at my
destination wedding location?
Depending on the ceremony details, it is recommended that
you work with someone at the location to help finalize the
details. Many resorts and hotels have on-site wedding
coordinators, who maintain reputable local vendor lists, and
can help organize your big day. I will help you choose the
best wedding coordinator, and will stay involved with you
throughout the planning process.

Is it ok to have a reception once we're
back home?
You can plan something very much like a
traditional wedding reception (formal invitations, cake cutting, dancing, even
wedding attire) or something more like a social theme party that resembles your
wedding day like a Hawaiian Luau and have your guest dress Hawaiian or if
married in Mexico have a Fiesta and pull out the Sombrero. Be sure to have your
photos and the video on display for all to enjoy.

I'm concerned about my guests being able to
afford to come, what does a Destination Wedding cost for the guests? And do we
have to pay for our reservations in full right away?
Because we custom build every wedding to the unique dreams and needs of our
couples, each wedding is different, as are the costs. Most guests will purchase
a 7 night package, This is dependent upon many variables including, but not
limited to, availability, hotel, time of year, etc. Usually when booking a
package the supplier ask for a deposit of around $250.00 and final payment due
usually 45 days prior to departure. Taken advantage of suppliers group discounts
can help save money.

Will I received the best prices for
travel packages?
Yes, we are always competitively priced. Most of our suppliers offer really good
group discounts for parties of 10 or more. We can find the perfect resort that
offers the best wedding packages, some even free.
Most Destination Weddings are All-Inclusive, providing air &
accommodations, unlimited food, beverages and resort activities
which helps with the cost.

What about
travel insurance?
It is strongly
recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover all of your travel
expenses, you can never predict a unforeseen incident or accident. To have your
travel plans disrupted/interrupted without any compensation would be
devastating.

When do I send out announcements, invitation, and save the date notices?
Invitations are only sent to those that
you intend to have present at your wedding. Announcements are mailed to
everyone else. Invitations should be mailed before the wedding, and
announcements after the wedding. If you are having a local reception when you
return home, a reception card can be enclosed with the invite and/or
announcement. If you're concerned about letting your guests know about the
wedding well in advance of the actual date, you might want to think about
sending a Save the Date notice.

Civil
or Religious ceremony?
Most destination can offer either a Civil,
Spiritual or
Religious Ceremony.
