Grenada

Known as the Spice Island, Grenada is indisputably everyone’s idea of tropical splendor.
The 120 square mile (310 sq km) island is a microcosm of all that’s best in the Caribbean. There are silky white beaches, unspoiled rain forests, hills and waterfalls, a breathtakingly beautiful colonial capital town, warm, clear bays for swimming and diving, a passion for food that’s a lasting legacy of the early French settlers, peace and quiet for lovers of solitude and a lively nightlife if you want it – all wrapped up in a perfect climate. It’s no wonder that the British and the French fought over it so many times.

Wedding Dreams Come True

With its sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, Grenada is one of the prettiest and most authentic island in the Caribbean. Couples come for the unspoiled wedding settings, unique cuisine, a wide range of properties and a 'spicy' honeymoon experience that offers both variety and romance.
There's romance amid nature at La Sagesse Natural Centre. Nestled in a deep bay with cliffs on both sides, with three white sand beaches surrounded by towering mangrove and coconut trees, this is an ideal place to exchange wedding vows.
Grand Anse Beach is another favorite spot.
A three kilometre stretch of sand, dotted with sea grapes and palm trees and located just south of the capital of St. George's, Grand Anse Beach is the perfect spot to have a wedding ceremony and picture perfect setting at all times of the day .

Requirements

Couples must be on island for three days before applying for a licence, in person, at the Office of the Prime Minister. The stamp duty and licence fee are about US$20 - $30. Licenses are generally ready within two working days (slightly longer if either partner has been divorced). Couples must have valid passports, birth certificates and a sworn affidavit attesting that it's a first marriage. Additional paperwork is required if it's not.

This is a fairly straightforward process but couples are wise to plan ahead and make on-island arrangements as well as notify guests about how to get to Grenada for their special wedding day and stay.
