For religious ceremonies, either the bride or groom or both
should be of Greek origin, with papers to support that. Civil
ceremonies are performed by the mayor of the city where the
marriage is taken place.
First contact the Greek Consulate
for appropriate documents, which will need to be translated.
They will also have to contact the mayor of the city, to arrange
the date. It might take several weeks
to complete everything, so they have to give themselves plenty

of birth certificate plus a copy of each (originals will be returned
