Cozumel

HOLA!

Cozumel - a Caribbean island east of the Quintana Roo coast, is Mexico’s largest island with a territorial extension. The informal atmosphere here is typically Mexican; relaxing, friendly and unpretentious. Encircled by a garland of superb coral reefs, Cozumel is an underwater enthusiast's paradise with expansive beaches, hidden coves and calm bays. Just 53 km long and 15 km wide, care has been taken to control development and preserve the island¹s natural gifts. The island’s only town is San Miguel de Cozumel, which has a relaxed Caribbean atmosphere and Mexico’s most important international cruise dock. Tourists flock to Cozumel looking for the peace, quiet and comfort that the island’s hotel zone offers. During your stay, you can also enjoy excellent golf courses, spas, and restaurants serving up a wide array of regional fish and seafood dishes. And of course there’s the thriving nightlife in the bars, where one can drink national and exotic beverages with new friends under a moonlit sky.

Marine reserves of great ecological importance, such as Parque Marino Nacional Arrecifes de Cozumel (Cozumel National Reef Marine Park) and Parque Natural Chankanaab (Chankanaab Nature Park), were created to protect areas with a wide diversity of marine life, and they have drawn the attention of researchers and marine biologists such as Jacques Cousteau. Moreover, they are great places to do scuba diving and ecotourism outings.

Wedding Dreams Come True

Cozumel, a short plane or ferry trip from the mainland, has special appeal for divers and snorkelers. The island sits amid the second-largest coral reef system in the world. Since only about six percent of Cozumel's territory is developed, exploring the beaches and Mayan ruins around the island provides a sense of adventure. San Gervasio, an ancient Mayan ceremonial center thought to be dedicated to Ixchel, goddess of fertility, rises mysteriously out of the jungle.
