Couples may
marry under the authority of a special licence that takes about
two working days to process. Both parties must present proof of
citizenship of their resident country: a passport or an original
birth certificate, with a photo identification such as a driver
licence. Two witness are required. If applicable, a divorce or
death certificate must be present. .If one partner resides in
Anquilla for at least 15days before the date of marriage, the
cost of the licence is US$40. If stay is shorter, then the cost
of the licence is $284 (representing stamp duty) $100.00EC in Postage Stamps paid to Government of Anquilla 48 hours to prior to wedding.
This can be taken care of before
arrival on the island.
